I go by “DanaToon” for 2 specific reasons. The 1st being that I am a cartoonist by nature, which is apparent in my work, and 2ndly, because I incorporate humor in everything I create. Ever since I was a child, I was always told that I have a very unique outlook on life. Having been raised in an ethnically diverse family, I’ve been exposed to different cultures and have managed to gain an interesting perspective on lots of things.

Observing and creating are the two main forces that drive my work. The cartoonist in me wants to comment on what I see and feel. The artist within that cartoonist wants to convey that message into an energetic, whimsical, and fun piece of art. My work is a reflection of my personality and sense of humor. I take life as it comes and understand that although there may be some hardships, it’s how we handle them that makes us who we are. My sense of humor has seen me thru some dark times.

I am a very sincere artist. Which is why humor is so crucial to my art. I want people to forget all their woes when looking at my creations. It is important to help people feel good and when I make something that brightens up someone’s day, it’s one of the most rewarding feelings in the world.
